Lemon Law FAQs:

Does Oklahoma Lemon Law apply to used cars?

  • Generally, no — Oklahoma’s Lemon Law covers new vehicles still under the manufacturer’s warranty. However, you may still have a case under other consumer protection laws if a used car was misrepresented, especially if sold as "certified pre-owned."

What types of vehicles qualify under Oklahoma Lemon Law?

  • Oklahoma Lemon Law applies to new cars, trucks, and motorcycles purchased or leased primarily for personal, family, or household use. Commercial vehicles and off-road vehicles typically aren’t covered.

How many repair attempts does it take to qualify as a lemon?

  • Under Oklahoma law, a vehicle is presumed to be a lemon if the same problem has been repaired 4 or more times without success, or if the vehicle is out of service for repairs for 30 or more calendar days within the first 12 months or 12,000 miles.
